Beware of Cabbage Moths

Happy Spooky Season! 👻
One scary thing in a fall garden is Cabbage Moths/ Cabbage Worms.

They can eat all of your yummy greens before you do! Fortunately, if you know what to look for, you can prevent these little goblins from destroying your garden.

Life cycle:
- Cabbage Moths lay 100s of eggs per day on the underside of brassica leaves.
- Three days later the eggs hatch larvae.
- Larvae eats 3x their body weight each day.
- After 2-4 weeks of destruction, larvae pupate in chrysalis on leaves.
- Moths emerge about 10 days later and start the cycle again.

In addition to scouting and destroying these guys, you can use bug netting to prevent the moths from landing and laying eggs on your brassicas. Spending a little time each morning in the garden will help lower their population and keep your greens looking fabulous!
